Ohio’s officers and the community came together to give a final goodbye to K9 Tommy, a four-legged hero, after a serious illness took his life.
Tommy served as a loyal partner to Officer Jeremy Berger for seven years, and his bravery didn’t go unnoticed.
Final Tribute

Tommy, a dedicated German Shepherd, was an important member of the team.
As the news of his passing spread, police officers and their K9s gathered at Blanchard Valley Veterinary Clinic to pay their respects.
The mood was filled with sadness as Tommy, covered with the flag, was taken to his last ride. The officers stood in silence, remembering Tommy’s years of hard work.
A Tough Goodbye

The hardest farewell was for Officer Berger and his family. They had to let go of Tommy, feeling a deep loss.
The radio gave a special send-off for Tommy, recognizing his loyal service:
“Thank you for being a good boy, protecting your partner and the citizens of Ohio. Your watch has now ended. Rest well. You are gone but never forgotten.”
Remembering a Hero

The sadness felt by Ohio’s officers was clear as they told stories and honored Tommy for keeping people safe.
Though Tommy’s duties have ended, he will always be remembered as a courageous and faithful K9 officer.
“Rest well, Tommy,” everyone says. “You were more than a good boy; you were a hero. We will always keep you in our memories.”
Strong Bonds
Tommy’s story is one of many that show the strength and friendship between K9 officers and their handlers.
As people grieve, they also celebrate the strong connection and dedication of these loyal dogs who serve with nothing but love.
