Experience:

Alex has written hundreds of informative articles as a freelance writer for various companies. He previously worked as an intern at the Museum of Discovery and Science, where he contributed to the development of the museum’s main app which is used by their 450,000+ annual visitors. He also aided in setting up and explaining museum exhibitions for the geology, animal, and astrophysics sections.

Recently, Alex served as an undergraduate research volunteer for a NASA-sponsored project that analyzed the genomic compositions of prehistoric thrombolite communities. He worked collaboratively with research team members to thoroughly review and interpret results.

Alex’s research experience helps him to have a more integrative understanding of the natural world, which is useful when explaining outdoor-related topics.

Education:

Alex is currently a senior at the University of Florida pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in microbiology and cell science with a minor in bioinformatics. He holds an associates degree in physics from Broward College, which was completed in tandem with his highschool diploma as a part of dual-enrollment. Alex plans on continuing his studies at the graduate level while also engaging his interest in the outdoors.
