A cat named Khalon has made an unbelievable recovery after being found in a terrible state of starvation.
Arriving at Allergic Rescuers KL in Malaysia, he was extremely thin, weighing only 1.8 kg.
The team, led by Rosy Kim, welcomed him and started the important work of helping him get better.
Road to Recovery
Khalon’s situation was very sad, as the videos and photos showed just how skinny he was.
The team didn’t know much about his past, but they were focused on helping him survive.
Rosy Kim said, “We forewent the search for his murky history, believing it to be a dead end,” Her main goal was to help Khalon get healthy again.
When taken to Dr. Teoh, Khalon was thoroughly checked over. Surprisingly, the tests revealed that he was mostly healthy, aside from having lice and the flu.
This was good news and meant he could start his journey to getting better.
Loving Foster Care
Khalon was then placed with foster parents Kim Louise and Craig, who shared his progress on Instagram under the username @kim_and_the_cats.
They first described Khalon as a “sad boney cat” but were committed to helping him gain weight and strength.
With time and care, Khalon started eating more and began to gain weight. He went from his starting weight of 1.8kg to 2.58 kg, and then to a healthier 3.42 kg.
Once he was stronger, he was able to be neutered and ready for a new home.
A Forever Home
His next chapter began with Mike and Madeleine, a couple in Malaysia who had followed his story online and immediately loved him.
The process of making Khalon a part of their family was smooth, and he quickly adapted to his new, loving environment.
Incredible Transformation
Khalon even began a cute routine of grooming Mike’s beard, showing just how much he had become part of the family.
The love and care Khalon received from everyone involved was clear, and his successful recovery showcased what a little kindness can do.
