Cows are usually seen grazing in fields, not asking for back rubs and snuggles. But Francisco, a huge Angus cow, is far from your regular farm animal.
His love for cuddles is showing the world that cows can be just as sweet and loving as the family dog.
Francisco’s New Home
Francisco was close to being sent away to the slaughterhouse, but luckily, an organization brought him to a safe place where he’s loved and cared for.
At Amor Que Salva Santuario in Brazil, Francisco has become known for his huge size and even bigger heart.
The Sanctuary’s One-ton Baby
When he arrived at the sanctuary, Francisco didn’t know what to think about humans. But soon, he couldn’t get enough attention from his new human mom, Luiza.
“Francisco always wants attention, and he’s good at getting it,” Luiza says.
He would even push other animals out of the way to be the center of attention.
Toys and Freedom
Aside from his clinginess, Francisco’s fun side also came out when he received his first toys.
You can see him happily playing with a big ball, cuddling a stuffed animal, or scratching his head with a rake.
For Luiza, seeing Francisco run around in the open for the first time was unforgettable.
A Gentle Friend
Things got even sweeter when Martin, a little pig with broken legs, came along.
Francisco was really careful around him, almost as if he knew Martin needed special care.
It was as if Francisco wanted to help him feel better.
Learning to Share
At first, Francisco wanted all of Luiza’s hugs for himself. But then he and Martin learned to share the love.
“They learned that when it comes to cuddles, the more, the merrier,” Luiza explains.
Now Francisco is not just gentle with Martin but also with all the other animals.
