Sometimes, animals get really scared because of bad experiences, and it can make them act differently.
Bruno, a dog who had a rough start in life, was so scared that he couldn’t even stand up or walk.
His story shows how much a little kindness and a lot of patience can make a difference.
A Scared Start
Bruno had experienced a lot before he was rescued. His fear was so great that he lay there frozen.
Thankfully, I Stand With My Pack, a nonprofit organization that saves animals and prevents animal cruelty, stepped in.
When they needed to move him, they had to slide him on a blanket because he couldn’t move by himself.
Angela Steps In
When Bruno met his foster mom, Angela, things slowly started to change.
She made sure Bruno felt safe and started helping him with easy exercises at home.
She also gave him his favorite treats, which helped him want to get up and move again. Soon enough, Bruno surprised everyone by standing on his own.
Little Victories
Angela kept working with Bruno every day. They would go outside, and Bruno would wear a leash.
It wasn’t easy, but Bruno started to do more things by himself, like walking out of his crate to get some food or just spending time outside with Angela.
Facing Fears
After a while, Bruno started to trust Angela more, and he wasn’t as afraid of people. He even began to go on short walks. It was a big step for a dog who used to be too scared to move.
“He is still nervous and learning to trust humans, but he is starting to surrender to the moment and is enjoying the love and attention that Angela is giving him,” explained I Stand With My Pack on their Instagram page.
Learning to Trust
Angela knew that if she were patient with Bruno and treated him with love, he would start to feel safe with people again.
“Bruno, deep down, is a social and affectionate guy who craves interaction, but whatever he’s been through can make him believe the things he wants in life aren’t always safe to receive,” says Angela in an Instagram post.
Angela worked slowly with him, helping him learn that it’s okay to let people be close to him and do fun things together.
Ready for a Home
Angela’s goal was to make sure Bruno could find a family that would love him forever.
She couldn’t keep him because she needed to help other dogs like him. But she was happy knowing that, because of her care, Bruno would be ready to be part of a new family.
Bruno’s story isn’t just about a dog getting better. It’s about how powerful love and patience can be.
It’s a reminder that no matter how hard things get, there’s always a chance for a happy ending. Bruno’s new life is just beginning, and there’s so much more happiness ahead.
