Ryker’s life was bleak when he first arrived at the vet – on the brink of death due to his owner’s neglect. But the hopeful look in his eyes suggested he wasn’t ready to give up just yet.
“When we first saw Ryker, it was clear he had been through a lot, but his gentle eyes were telling us he wasn’t done fighting,” said a representative from Friends of Faye, a canine rescue nonprofit organization.
Ryker Learns to Play

Discovering toys marked a new beginning for Ryker. He would play, throw them around, and make noises that showed his spirit was returning.
“Ryker’s first growl was the best sound I’ve ever heard,” Hillary, his foster mom, shared. “It meant he was getting better and feeling playful again.”
Finding the Perfect Home
The search for a forever family was careful and intentional. Hillary met with several families, looking for permanent fur parents with a good understanding of huskies.
Friends of Faye knew Ryker needed people who would appreciate his quirky personality.
That’s when Mike and Donna stepped in as the perfect match, ready to give Ryker the love and stability he deserved.
Ryker’s New Family

After a long journey, Ryker settled into his new home with warmth and excitement. He also met his new brother, Dallas, and the two bonded instantly.
The Rewards of Rescuing
The transformation from a shy, quiet husky to a lively, chatty one is a testament to the love and care provided by rescues like Friends of Faye.
“Seeing Ryker thrive with his new family made every effort worth it,” said Hillary. “It’s moments like this that remind us why rescue work is so important.”
