At Delmar Farm in Florida, there’s a rescue cow named Winston who has a huge wish to make friends with every horse he sees.
His adventures have touched many people and have spread far and wide on the internet.
Winston’s Big Move to Delmar Farm
Winston came to Delmar Farm, a place that protects horses and farm animals when he was a two-month-old calf.
But he wasn’t just looking for a safe place; he wanted to make friends in his new home.
The other animals on the farm quickly liked Winston, but the horses did not feel the same way at first.
Trying to Win Over Trigger
One horse, named Trigger, really didn’t seem to want Winston around. He’s often grumpy around Winston.
He would nip at Winston when he was near, making it clear that he was not welcome.
Nevertheless, Winston continues to greet Trigger with a big smile and daily kisses.
Winston’s Non-stop Efforts
Every morning, Winston says hello to Trigger with hopeful eyes, eagerly awaiting a friendly nuzzle in return.
“Winston would stop at trigger’s stall, reach out, and he was determined to win him over,” says Claudia Campbell, the owner of Delmar Farm.
Eventually, Trigger seems to enjoy these visits, as he now always sticks out his head when Winston stops by to say “hello.”
The Horses Love Him
Some of the horses have started to like Winston back, too.
Winston is often seen giving morning kisses to the friendly horses, showing just how loving he is.
“Winston was determined to give morning kisses to any horse that had their head sticking out of their stalls,” Claudia said.
Animals Teach Us About Friendship
Winston’s will to make friends isn’t just a cute tale about a cow wanting to be friends with horses; it’s a story that teaches us about perseverance, kindness, and the desire to connect with others.
It reminds us that the need for friendship is universal and shared by all, regardless of our differences.
