A young coyote pup found itself in a scary situation, but thanks to the quick response of animal rescuers in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, the story had a happy ending.
Found in Trouble
One Tuesday, something was clearly wrong: a coyote pup was spotted with its head trapped in a plastic container.
It was trying to get the container off for two whole days before help arrived.
Team Rescue
“The immediate help was essential,” the team at Newhouse Wildlife Rescue recognized when they heard about the coyote’s trouble.
A group effort between the local animal control and an environmental police officer, Dewayne Taylor, made the rescue possible.
They searched for the coyote together, caught him carefully, and took off the container that was stuck on his head.
Beating the Odds
The little coyote was shocked and weak, with pale gums showing he was stressed and needed water.
Kindly, the rescuers took him back to their place to give him the care he needed to get better from the scary experience.
Getting Better
By the following day, there was good news: The coyote pup was doing much better.
The rescuers planned to return him to his family because they knew where to find them.
Thankful Words
“It took a village,” they said, grateful for everyone who helped.
The team thanked Animal Control Officer Casey Smith, Officer Dewayne Taylor, and Jonny, who were all important in saving the pup’s life.
Wildlife Safety
This rescue reminds us that our litter can be harmful to wildlife, and we need to take care of the animals living around us.
The Newhouse Wildlife Rescue asks everyone to keep an eye out and help animals in need when they find them.
Now that the coyote pup is safe and healthy again, the story shows how working together can make a big difference and helps us remember to care for the creatures we share our world with.
