One rainy day, Hazel’s owner, Monica Burks, noticed that Hazel was taking longer than usual to come back from being outside.

She added about the kitten, “Sheba is a feisty, loving little thing; she was no bigger than my hand when Hazel found her.”
Monica knows the value of rescuing animals because she and her daughter once rescued Hazel and her brother when they were just five weeks old.
“They have given me so much joy and laughter; I think maybe they rescued me,” Monica confessed.
