Charlie’s story is about a baby hippo who grew up with rhinos and learned to live like one of them. But with help, he started to act more like a hippo.
A Rough Start
Left alone when he was very young, Charlie was saved by people who looked after wildlife.
They took him to a place where they care for baby rhinos, and there he met Makhosi, a young rhino.
New Friends

Charlie and Makhosi became great buddies. Even though they were different animals, they spent a lot of time together and seemed really happy.
Enter Moomin

When Moomin, another young hippo, came to live with them, Charlie met someone like himself for the first time. She helped him do the things hippos love to do.
Splash Time
Moomin showed Charlie how to have fun in the water.
At first, Charlie wasn’t sure about it, but he slowly started enjoying the water more because it brought him closer to his new friend.
Ready for the Wild

Their caregivers started getting Charlie and Moomin ready to live independently in nature. They began to live more like wild hippos, which was good for them.
Finding His Place

Charlie has come a long way. He’s grown up and now knows he’s a hippo.
His change from being with rhinos to being with another hippo is a fantastic story of growing up and discovering who you are.
