Bertha, a rescued rabbit, quickly became a beloved part of her new family.
She did more than just fit in. She became very important, especially to the little kittens.
Fun Bunny
Emily Heiderscheidt, director of Ruby and Laurel Animal Rescue in Clinton, North Carolina, took Bertha as a foster after being rescued from a rabbit hoarding case.
As soon as Emily took her in, her playful, loving, and curious nature quickly showed.
“She’ll be doing something naughty and it just is so funny because of her personality,” Emily said.
Everyone loves Bertha
Bertha’s silly games and tender moments with other animals in the house bring joy to her foster family and have even made her a hit on the internet.
Millions have enjoyed videos of her causing harmless trouble and cuddling with her animal buddies, sharing laughter and joy.
“This is the best personality I have ever seen in a pet rabbit. She is almost more like a cat or a dog,” A YouTube viewer commented.
Caring for Kitties
Bertha’s time as a foster rabbit was supposed to be short, but something extraordinary happened.
She gladly took on the job of ‘mom’ to the kittens Emily brought home.
She cuddles them, plays with them, and lets them groom her.
With her kitten friends, Jolene and Amron, Bertha showed us that animals can look after one another, even if they’re different.
From Temporary to Forever
Bertha’s short stay with Emily has turned into a forever home.
She has definitely found her place, and she was meant to stay.
It seems like Emily’s house now has two foster moms – Emily and Bertha.
