In an uplifting story, Lily, a young Great Pyrenees dog, has gone from being unable to walk to happily running around.
This was all thanks to Tracy Fosterling, who took her in and never gave up on her.
A Fresh Start for Lily
A few years back, Tracy, who helps out the National Great Pyrenees Rescue, saw a Facebook post that caught her eye.
It was about Lily, a six-month-old puppy in pain and needing a new home because her previous owner couldn’t handle her health issues.
But Lily had a kind look and a strong will, so Tracy decided to drive to Tampa and rescue her.
Figuring Out the Problem
When Lily arrived at Tracy’s home, her walking was off.
It turned out she had a serious condition called bilateral luxating patellas, where her kneecaps were out of place and couldn’t slide back.
Tracy knew it was serious, but she also saw Lily’s eagerness to get better.
The Path to Getting Better
Lily’s path to getting better was long and tough. She needed two major surgeries to fix her knees, and Tracy had to give her lots of care.
Tracy carried Lily, who weighed 90 pounds and later 120 pounds, everywhere, which was hard work but so important for Lily’s healing.
Lily’s Big Change
Despite everything she went through, Lily never lost her joy. She found the strength to join Tracy’s other dogs for playtime and enjoyed lying in the sun.
After the surgeries and various therapies, like water rehab, Lily made a huge turnaround.
She went from dragging her legs to running and playing, though she takes it easy compared to other dogs.
Living Fully
“Now she moves with ease, and you can tell she’s loving life,” says Tracy. It’s hard to believe the tough times Lily once faced.
Thanks to Tracy’s endless effort and Lily’s fighting spirit, what seemed like a hopeless situation turned into a story full of promise.
Lily’s amazing recovery is a powerful reminder that with hard work and a caring heart, even the toughest challenges can have a happy ending.
Thanks to Tracy’s help, Lily can now play and enjoy her dog life just like any other pup.
