After a serious car accident, Faye O’Hara faced a tough new reality. At 15, she was left with injuries that took away her ability to walk and use her right arm.
But Faye’s love for horses didn’t fade away; it fueled her comeback and led to an amazing friendship with a horse named Majestic that changed her life all over again.
A Crushing Blow
The accident was a nightmare. O’Hara woke up in the hospital to learn she’d be in a wheelchair and unlikely to ride horses again.
Those early days were rough, filled with pain and uncertainty about what life would look like now.
Learning to Live Again
Coming to terms with the fact that she’d never walk again was incredibly tough.
For a long time, horses, which had been her whole world, were too painful to think about. She shut out anything to do with her old life and the sport she loved.
Rediscovering Her Passion
But you can’t easily turn off love, and eventually, Faye missed horses too much to stay away.
She started working with the Riding for the Disabled Association, but it wasn’t until Majestic came along that she truly felt hope again.
More Than Just a Horse
Majestic and O’Hara’s connection was special. She trained him from her wheelchair day by day, and they developed a trust that transformed both their lives.
Majestic learned to be her support in ways that went far beyond riding.
Triumph Over Trials
Together, they had to figure out how to do things differently because of O’Hara’s wheelchair.
They had a setback when O’Hara fell and broke her legs, but they bounced back stronger. Their bond proved that they could overcome just about anything.
