The complete county distribution, spread across 36 Oklahoma counties. Every occurrence record falls in one county, so these sum to the total. Counties from GBIF and US Census boundaries.

In Oklahoma, fulvous harvest mice are associated mainly with the humid southeast, where tall grass and herbaceous cover border pine-hardwood forest. Ouachita National Forest, Beavers Bend, and Robbers Cave point visitors toward suitable country, but this tiny nocturnal mouse is not a realistic target for routine wildlife watching.

Records exist in every season and are strongest from August through October. Because most distribution evidence comes from surveys and collections, absence of a casual sighting says little about whether the species occupies a patch of cover.
