Humboldt’s flying-squirrel records in Oregon follow the moist forest belt of the Cascades and western slopes, including national-forest and wilderness country. Most reports fall from June through October, with September especially prominent and only scattered winter documentation. Nocturnal habits make observations unusually dependent on survey method and chance, so record totals cannot be read as abundance.
