Oregon records occur in every month, rising to 158 in July and a yearly high of 177 in September before dropping to 98 in October. The overlay names Malheur and Klamath Marsh national wildlife refuges and the Willamette Valley refuges as places to look, and NatureServe ranks the species S5 (Secure) in the state. These are encounter patterns rather than an abundance census, so lower counts do not necessarily mean fewer mice.
