Rhode Island’s northern hoary bat overlay contains 14 records for 2000–2026, all from GBIF. Every dated entry falls between July and October: five each in August and September and two each in July and October. This tight record window reflects documented encounters, not bat abundance.
NatureServe ranks the species S1 (Critically Imperiled) in Rhode Island. Arcadia Management Area, Diamond Hill State Park, and George Washington Management Area are the three search leads, but no place-level counts show whether any of the 14 records came from them.
