Pallid bats carry a NatureServe S3 vulnerable rank in Oklahoma, and the record leans heavily toward GBIF (53 of 76 combined records) over iNaturalist, suggesting survey work, not casual sightings, documents most of what’s known about this ground-foraging bat here.
July alone accounts for 8 of the year’s 22 monthly-tallied sightings, more than a third of the total, with additional bumps in May (4) and September (4); the record shows nothing from January through April or in any winter month, consistent with a species that’s most detectable during the warm months when it forages low over open ground for insects.
