A crane named Carl has won the hearts of many by bringing his babies to visit a human friend each year.
A heartwarming video captures these special moments and shows how smart and loving cranes can be.
A Feathered Friend’s Daily Visit
At first, Carl’s visits to Autumn Cochella’s home were a surprise, but they quickly became something the household looked forward to.
His soft knocks at the door were always a happy part of the day, and greeting Carl became as normal as saying “hello” to a neighbor.
Carl’s Family Joins In
The friendship deepened when Carl brought over his mate, Carla, and their young bird, Junior, to meet Autumn.
Watching Junior play and grow, Autumn learned more about the close bonds within crane families.

“He really just enjoyed being around us,” Autumn said.
Autumn saw Carl teaching Junior to knock on the door, an amazing sight.
It was a sweet moment that showed cranes can be smart and enjoy hanging out with people.
Continuing the Tradition
The following year, Carl and Carla brought their two new chicks to meet Autumn.
“It’s an honor that Carl trusts me enough to bring me his wife and his kids,” Autumn said.
Junior, now fully grown, proudly introduces his own mate too.
Knowing that all the cranes were thriving gave Autumn happiness and peace.
A Deeper Bond
Carl’s regular drop-ins with his family show us the amazing friendships that can happen between humans and wild animals.
These visits are about more than just a crane stopping by; they’re about the trust and happiness from friendships we never expected.
