New Hampshire’s eastern water shrew overlay contains 11 total records for 2000–2026: 11 are listed from GBIF and one from iNaturalist, so the source counts may overlap. Six dated entries fall in July and four in August. They confirm recorded encounters, not the abundance of the species.
NatureServe ranks the shrew S5 (Secure) in New Hampshire. White Mountain National Forest, the Lakes Region, and the seacoast are the three areas named here, but a series confined almost entirely to three summer months cannot map the full range or establish year-round absence elsewhere.
