The complete county distribution, spread across 4 Arkansas counties. Every occurrence record falls in one county, so these sum to the total. Counties from GBIF and US Census boundaries.

Arkansas has 17 Elliott’s short-tailed shrew records in the 2000–2026 overlay, all from GBIF. Eleven are dated to July and four to May, leaving only two records outside those months. This sharp concentration describes collecting and reporting, not the state’s shrew abundance.

The species carries an S3 (Vulnerable) state rank. Ozark and Ouachita national forests and Buffalo National River are the three search areas listed, but the absence of iNaturalist records and entries in most months keeps the data from supporting a complete distribution or activity calendar.
