October accounts for 22 of the 34 observations in Oregon’s monthly series, followed by seven in November; the remaining reports fall in June, August, and September. The Oregon Dunes, Cape Perpetua, and coastal estuaries and state parks are the overlay’s search suggestions, and the state rank is S4 (Apparently Secure). This seasonal concentration is a pattern in records, not a measure of abundance or proof that the shrew is absent in other months or places.
