The complete county distribution, spread across 18 Idaho counties. Every occurrence record falls in one county, so these sum to the total. Counties from GBIF and US Census boundaries.

House mouse records in Idaho follow human structures more than any particular landscape; NatureServe flags the species as exotic, not part of the state’s native fauna. Reports near the Idaho Panhandle and Nez Perce-Clearwater national forests likely trace back to buildings and campgrounds rather than deep woods.

Reports rise in April and again in September and October, months when mice commonly move toward structures as outdoor food and cover decline. With 89 total records, most from GBIF, much of the documentation likely comes from pest-survey data rather than casual sightings.
