Florida has just 14 minke whale records, all from GBIF with no iNaturalist sightings at all. That pattern fits a whale that spends most of its time far offshore and rarely surfaces close to shore or boats. It’s native to Florida waters, though NatureServe hasn’t assigned the state a numeric rank (SNR).
February and March each hold 3 records, the closest thing to a seasonal cluster in a very small dataset. With only 14 records total, that’s too little to call a true migration pattern, more likely a handful of winter strandings or offshore sightings.
