Sambar behavior and habitat

It feeds on leaves, shoots, grasses, and fruit, often staying near dense cover and water. Habitat must connect feeding areas with secure places to rest, shelter, or raise young. That link explains why a broad outline can contain large areas the species doesn’t regularly use.
